Pierre Jodlowski has designed an immersive installation where the user interacts intuitively and intelligently with the sonorous and visual environment.
Mortuos Plango, vivos voco
Composed by Jonathan Harvey in 1980, this electro-acoustic masterpiece blends together the composer’s son’s voice, a chorister, and the harmonies of the bell at Winchester cathedral (using CHANT software for the synthesized voiced created at IRCAM).
The Science-Arts-Society Meridian crosses through the Géode in Paris with the words of the French philosopher, man of letters, and humanist, Michel Serres.
International Symposium / Space, Body, Sound
The inauguration of the installation Grainstick is the opportunity to question, via the Space/body/sound theme, the way that the notion of space, in its relationships with body and sound, is addressed by different artisitic disciplines (e.g. music, dance, theater, film, and design) and is connected to technological advances (e.g. spatialization of sounds, image synthesis) in light of scientific knowledge (e.g. physics, cognitive sciences).
